Where do stories begin? How do characters come to life? What makes dialogue work? And how does a playwright shape all of these elements into a compelling scene?

In this hands-on playwriting class, participants will explore the playwright's craft and responsibility while experimenting with storytelling, character, dialogue, plot, and structure. Each participant will write an original three-page scene and/or monologue, with the opportunity to hear their work performed as a reading in class.

Each class will consist of a full-body warmup, locomotor skills practice, simple staging and choreography, and modifications for different abilities. This fun, beginner-friendly class welcomes dancers ages 55+, of all ethnicities, genders, and cultural backgrounds.
